Psalm 14
14 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no
God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that
doeth good.
2 The Lord looked down from
heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand,
and seek God.
3 They are all gone aside,
they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not
one.
4 Have all the workers of
iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not
upon the Lord.
5 There were they in great
fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.
6 Ye have shamed the
counsel of the poor, because the Lord is
his refuge.
7 Oh that the salvation of
Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the
captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
Prayer:
Abba Father,
We come before you acknowledging that you are the Creator of all
things and the source of true wisdom and understanding. In a world where some
deny your existence and choose the path of foolishness, we seek your guidance
and mercy.
Lord, look down from heaven and see if there are any who
understand, any who seek you. We recognize that all have turned away, and
corruption has tainted the hearts of many. Yet, we trust in your grace and
mercy.
We lift up those who do not acknowledge your presence, praying
that their hearts may be softened and their eyes opened to your truth. May they
come to understand the depth of your love and turn towards you.
In the face of evildoers who oppress and devour your people, be
our refuge, O Lord. Frustrate the plans of the wicked, and let your justice
prevail. We long for the day when salvation will come, and your people will
rejoice.
We place our hope in you, our Redeemer, and we pray for the
restoration of all people through the saving work of your Son, Jesus Christ. In
His name, we pray.
Amen.
